How we compared them
Most Venty vs Mighty comparisons are written from North America, quote dollar prices and leave the Crafty+ out altogether. We are an authorised UK Storz & Bickel stockist, we handle all three devices every week, and we sell them at UK prices with UK stock. So this is a three-way comparison with pounds, honest stock notes and a verdict for each type of buyer, not a nudge towards the most expensive box on the shelf.
One thing to say up front. None of these is a bad choice. Every one of them will outperform almost anything else in our list of the best dry herb vaporizers in the UK that is not made by Storz & Bickel. The question is which one fits how you will actually use it.
What all three share
The Venty, Mighty+ and Crafty+ share the same engineering DNA, which is why the decision is harder than it looks.
- Hybrid heating. All three combine convection (hot air drawn through the herb) with conduction (a heated chamber), which is why Storz & Bickel devices produce such even, dense vapour from the first draw to the last. - Ceramic-coated chamber. The filling chamber on every current model is ceramic coated, which keeps flavour clean and makes cleaning a wipe rather than a scrub.
- Medical-grade build. The bodies are made from PEEK, a plastic used in medical devices, and every unit is built in Germany.
- Precise temperature range. 40°C to 210°C, controlled to the degree on all three, whether from the body or, on the Venty and Crafty+, through the Storz & Bickel web app.
- USB-C charging. No proprietary chargers, and all three will run while plugged in.
- Dosing capsules. All three take the same Storz & Bickel dosing capsules, so you can pre-fill a day's worth and keep the chamber clean.
- Two-year warranty, extended by a further year when you register the device.
In short, whichever one you buy, you get the vapour quality, the build and the warranty. What changes is speed, airflow, battery, controls and size.
The differences that matter
Heat-up time
This is the first thing Venty owners mention. The Venty's mini heater draws up to 130 watts and takes the device from cold to temperature in around twenty seconds. The Mighty+ and Crafty+ both take around sixty. A minute is not long, but if you take several short sessions through the day rather than one long one, the Venty's speed changes how you use the device: you pick it up, it is ready, you put it down.
Airflow
The Venty is the only one of the three with adjustable airflow. A rotating ring on the top opens the draw from a tight, flavour-focused pull to a wide-open, effortless one, up to 20 litres per minute. Nothing else in the portable market draws like it. The Mighty+ and Crafty+ have a fixed, slightly restricted draw. It is perfectly comfortable, and plenty of people prefer a bit of resistance, but once you have tried the Venty fully open it is hard to go back.
Battery and charging
The Venty and Mighty+ run on two 18650 cells; the Crafty+ has one. In practice that means the two larger devices will get you through an evening of sessions with charge to spare, while the Crafty+ is a device you charge more often, roughly half the sessions per charge. The Venty and Mighty+ also support USB-C supercharging, which takes them to about 80% in around forty minutes. The Crafty+ charges over USB-C too, but at a normal rate.
Controls and the app
The Venty and Mighty+ have an LED display and physical plus and minus buttons on the body, so you can set any temperature without your phone. The Mighty+ has no Bluetooth and no app at all, which makes it the simplest of the three to live with: press, wait, draw. The Venty adds Bluetooth for the web app, but you never need it.
The Crafty+ is different. It has one button and three onboard settings (180°C by default, a Boost with a double click and a Super Boost to 210°C with a triple click). For any other temperature you set it through the Storz & Bickel web app on your phone. Some people like the minimalism. Others, particularly medical users who want to set a temperature once and never think about it, find the app dependency a nuisance. Be honest with yourself about which camp you are in before you buy.
Size and pocketability
This is where the Crafty+ wins outright. It is around half the weight of the other two and short enough to sit in a jeans pocket. The Mighty+ and Venty are jacket-pocket or bag devices. They are portable in the sense that you can take them anywhere, but nobody would call them discreet.
The Crafty+ phase-out
Storz & Bickel is winding the Crafty+ (and the desktop Plenty) down. There is no official end date, and warranty support continues in full for units bought during the phase-out, but once distributor stock is gone we do not expect it back. We are not saying this to hurry you. We are saying it because if the Crafty+ is the right device for you, the window to buy one new is closing, and you should know that before you decide.

If you chase flavour and performance: the Venty
If you want the best portable vaporizer Storz & Bickel have ever made, and probably the best portable on sale in the UK, it is the Venty. The twenty-second heat-up and adjustable airflow are not gimmicks; they are the two things you will notice every single session. The extra £40 over the Mighty+ buys you speed, airflow and a slightly newer design. If your budget stretches, this is the one, and the fact it goes out of stock regularly tells you what other buyers have concluded.
If you want to buy once and stop thinking about it: the Mighty+
The Mighty+ is the device we recommend to anyone who says "I just want it to work". It has an enormous track record of reliability, the controls are on the body so there is nothing to pair or update, and the dual battery gets you through a long day. It is also the choice for a lot of medical users, who tend to value a fixed temperature they can set without a phone, consistency and a warranty they can rely on. It is not as fast as the Venty and the draw is more restricted, and for many owners neither matters at all.
If you want the smallest, cheapest way into Storz & Bickel: the Crafty+
Recommending the £199.99 device is the honest answer for a lot of readers. If you mainly session alone, you like the idea of tinkering with an app, or you want Storz & Bickel vapour quality in something that fits in a jeans pocket, the Crafty+ delivers all of it at £99 less than the Venty. The trade-offs are the single battery and the app for fine temperature control. And because it is being phased out, this is the window to buy one new. Is the Venty worth the extra over the Mighty+?
If you take short, frequent sessions, or you want wide-open airflow, yes. The twenty-second heat-up and the airflow ring are the two features the Mighty+ cannot match, and they are the ones you feel every time you use it. If you take one long session in the evening and prefer a bit of draw resistance, the Mighty+ gives you the same vapour quality for £40 less.
What is the difference between the Mighty+ and the Crafty+?
The same heating system in a bigger body with more battery. The Mighty+ has two cells, an onboard display with temperature buttons, supercharging and no app; the Crafty+ has one cell, one button with three preset temperatures and relies on the app for anything else. The Crafty+ is about half the weight and £59 cheaper.
Is the Crafty+ being discontinued?
Storz & Bickel is phasing out the Crafty+ and the Plenty. No official end date has been announced and warranty cover continues for devices bought during the phase-out. Retailers, ourselves included, expect remaining stock to sell through and not be replaced.
Which Storz & Bickel is best for flavour?
All three share the hybrid heating and ceramic-coated chamber that make Storz & Bickel vapour taste the way it does, so the flavour ceiling is similar. The Venty edges it, because the adjustable airflow lets you take a tighter, slower draw at a lower temperature, which is where flavour lives. For the purest flavour of all, add the dosing capsules, which keep the chamber itself clean.
