Grind quality does more for vapour production than almost anything else you can change. Too coarse and the heat cannot reach the middle of the material; too fine and it packs down and chokes the airflow. Storz & Bickel built this mill with extra sharp teeth to hit the consistency their own devices are designed around.
Two sizes: the standard mill at approximately 59mm across, and the XL at approximately 90mm for grinding larger amounts in one go. The XL is the same mill supplied in the Dosing Capsule Filling Set.

Storz & Bickel's description is short and to the point: extra sharp teeth for finely ground herbs. Sharp teeth cut rather than tear, which gives a fluffier, more even result and less of the compacted dust that blocks screens.
Two Sizes For Two Habits
The standard 59mm mill is the pocketable one, sized for a session or two at a time. The 90mm XL is the one to reach for when you are filling a batch of dosing capsules or preparing for a group session, and it takes far less turning to get through the same amount.

Cleaning And Maintenance
Warm rinsing water only. Storz & Bickel are explicit that the Herb Mill must not be placed in isopropyl alcohol, and current guidance does not cover dishwasher use either. Brush the teeth out and rinse, then dry thoroughly before storing.
